Abstract. In this paper, we investigate existence and nonexistence of positive solutions for the \alpha-order, where 2<\alpha\leq 3, nonlinear fractional boundary value problem

D^{\alpha }u(t)+f(t,u(t))=0, 0<t<1,

u(0)=u^{\prime }(0)=u^{\prime }(1)=0.
